I am backend software engineer. After my graduation from HKUST, I worked for ATAL Engineering Group to implement the IoT/big data solutions and worked at OOCL to implement Middleware Platform automation and DevOps tasks for shipment. I also worked for different industries and domain such as NLG/NLU and FX products.
With hands-on experience in software development and project management, I have developed various RESTFul API, applications and systems including building data pipeline for research engineers, middleware for accessing multiple databases, deployment, and DevOps practice.
Apart from project experience, I am also certified with MCS and LPI. Currently, I am now studying MScIT with Stream in Artificial Intelligence and Financial Technology (ML includes). The major programming language is Python and focus on Backend Development.
My responsibility is to design the System in the micro-service manner and design the API, draft the API document and conduct the corresponding development. I have to create the API interface to consolidate different data sources (e.g HKO) and provide a single entry point to the other services to use. For example, in The mills BMSApp, I have to develop APIs to transform and consolidate the data from different BMS System (G3, EMS) and provide a well-defined RESTful API interface to other service to manage alarm, schedule, realtime value, historical data, configurations etc. All these stuff is via the control on RESTful API. On the other hand, in the Chiller Plant Optimisation Project (over 20 micro-service), I have to develop many different services and provide the RESTFul API to let other services to use such as Computation Engine for data processing, visualization engine for plotting the graph etc. Yet, I mainly utilize the Flask/Flask-restful to develop the API.
